Buying a Used Peugeot Turbocharger in South Africa
A failed turbo is one of the more common โ and more fixable โ big-bill faults on Peugeot diesels and the hotter petrols. Used and reconditioned turbos are widely available in South Africa, but fitting one without addressing why the old one failed is the fastest way to kill it again. We match the correct turbo to your engine code and give you the fitment advice to protect it.
On HDi diesels, a blocked oil-feed pipe starves the turbo of lubrication โ so we always recommend replacing the feed pipe and oil filter on installation. THP petrol turbos (208 GTi, 308, RCZ) are twin-scroll units that are scarcer in local yards and priced higher. If the turbo failed because of an underlying engine issue, it is worth quoting a used engine or a reconditioned cylinder head at the same time.
