Parts — around R11,600 for a 2.0 HDi DMF. Add a matched clutch kit, a new thrust bearing and a new rear-main oil seal while the gearbox is out. Labour runs six to eight hours. It's a big job; always bundle clutch replacement with the flywheel.

No — DMFs are sealed units. The internal springs and dampers cannot be serviced. Solid-mass conversion kits are an aftermarket option on some HDi models but add vibration. We usually recommend OEM-spec DMF replacement.

If it's a DMF and over 150,000 km — yes, replace together. The labour is identical and a tired DMF will destroy a fresh clutch within months. For solid flywheels on older 206 or 307 petrols, just skim and reuse if the surface is clean.
